Grosvenor Hotel fire was started deliberately
A fire which tore through a derelict hotel is believed to have been started deliberately.
The blaze at the former Grosvenor Hotel close to Temple Meads started on the evening of October 18, with firefighters working through the night and into the early morning to bring it under control.
There were no casualties but a neighbouring building was evacuated, with a cordon remaining in place around what was once one of Bristol’s grandest hotels.
is needed now More than ever
In a statement, an Avon Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: “After a fire investigation, including previous recent calls to the same premises, investigators have determined the cause of the fire on Victoria Street, Bristol, on October 18, to be deliberate.”
