Harbourside Market to double in size

By Beth Longville  Thursday Apr 23, 2015

The Harbourside Market, which runs every Saturday and Sunday under the covered walkway outside the Watershed, is expanding across the water from next month.

From May 9, the market will introduce new new zones including street food, fresh produce, vintage, flea and suitcase sellers as it doubles in size.

Market manager James Coomber said: “With the number of people living in the city centre on the rise, it’s great to be able to provide an independent alternative to the high street on their doorsteps. The Harbourside Market will be bigger and better than ever and a place to get quality, fresh and local produce somewhere affordable and fun.”

More new initiatives include an artist and DJ in residence, the best of Bristol’s buskers, and a new music stage at the foot of the Cascade Steps.

The Harbourside Market is taking applications for stallholders, musicians and entertainers for May and June. Anyone interested should visit the website for more information at www.theharboursidemarket.co.uk.
