Help record a week in lockdown for Historic England
Picturing Lockdown is a seven-day open call for the public to share their experience of the current lockdown.
One hundred images from the public and ten artists will be added to Historic England’s Archive to preserve them and officially record this moment in history.
It is the first time since the Second World War that the public have been asked to capture a moment in time and save it in the Historic England Archive.
is needed now More than ever
Running from Wednesday until May 5, the aim of the project is to create a unique and reflective record of a week across the nation.
Among the ten artists is Malaika Kegode, a multi-disciplinary artist from Bristol whose poetry is currently displayed on the exterior of the Arnolfini.
Claudia Kenyatta, head of regions at Historic England, said: “We want people to show us their experiences of lockdown, how communities have come together and life has changed for us all.
“These challenging times are encouraging us all to pause and reflect upon our relationship with our surroundings.
“We hope this project inspires creativity and reflection, allowing the public to create a unique time capsule for the future.”
