‘Hotter than a Turbo Island bonfire’

Turbo Island has been taken over by one of Bristol’s favourite burger joints.

‘Hotter than a Turbo Island bonfire’ reads the slogan on the billboard looking down on the infamous empty patch of land on the corner of Stokes Croft and Jamaica Street.

Smaller posters have also been put in place, all also advertising Oowee Diner who have a restaurant on Picton Street in Montpelier just a few minutes’ walk away.

“Proudly unofficial sponsors of Turbo Island,” the Oowee team wrote on Instagram.

As a disclaimer, they added: “We have no actual involvement or accept any responsibility for any of the activity that may occur on Turbo Island.

“This is just a joke.”
