By Lowie Trevena  Wednesday Apr 1, 2020

A leading developer in Bristol has donated hundreds of PPE masks to Southmead Hosptial.

Barratt Developments Plc, which builds houses across the city and South West has donated more than 200 masks to Bristol’s northern hospital.

The high quality FSP3 masks are normally used on the house builders’ construction sites as they are not being used currently due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Barratt Developments Plc took the decision to temporarily close all of its offices and construction sites in order to protect customers, employees and the public.

Ian Menham, managing director of Barratt & David Wilson Homes South West said: “We are delighted to be able to donate this equipment where it is urgently needed – to protect NHS staff on the frontline of the battle against Covid-19.

“We are seeing an incredible, inspiring collective action by businesses, communities and individuals and we are proud to be playing our part.”

NHS frontline workers, including hospital staff and GPs, urgently need more personal protection equipment in order to treat patients safely and to keep themselves void of danger and contracting the Covid-19 virus.
