In photos: Bedminster Winter Lantern Parade 2025
For over 12 years, people in south Bristol have looked forward to the Bedminster Winter Lantern Parade or ‘Bemmy Lanterns’.
The parade, led by organising committee chairman Ade Williams MBE, a local pharmacist, sees hundreds of schoolchildren, parents, artists and volunteers meet on North Street to parade hand-crafted lanterns through BS3.
Although the parade did not take place in 2024, with organisers citing the need for a “break to review and rethink” and explore the “financial sustainability” of the free event, the parade returned on Saturday after a successful crowdfunder.
is needed now More than ever
