In photos: Docks Heritage Weekend 2024

Docks Heritage Weekend returned for a celebration of Bristol’s rich maritime past with activities at the M Shed, Underfall Yard, the SS Great Britain and Brunel’s Other Bridge.

The only functioning Stothert & Pitt travelling cranes in the world were in action, with an immersive performance of cargo handling on a 1950s working dockside helped by the team from Show of Strength Theatre Company.

The John King tugboat was cruising up and down the harbour, with trips on vintage buses to Underfall Yard for behind-the-scenes workshop tours and a glimpse of the restored 1907 pumping station in action.
