Insulation falls off building in busy city centre area

By Karen Johnson  Monday Dec 9, 2024

Fire services were called to a city centre building on Sunday afternoon, after reports of loose insulation.

The insulation was then captured by an on-looker, falling off the building as the fire services removed it using a turntable ladder.

It is believed that the building above Taka Taka, on the corner of Rupert Street and Bridewell Street is used as a student accommodation.

In a statement to Bristol24/7, Avon Fire and Rescue Services said: “We were called at 3:45pm to reports of loose insulation on a building used as student accommodation on Bridewell Street, Bristol City Centre.

“Crews from Temple Fire Station attended and used a turntable ladder to remove the loose insulation from the building.

“No one was injured during the incident.”
