Jason Donovan finally gets a kebab from Jason Donervan

By Martin Booth  Sunday Mar 6, 2022

The stars aligned in Bristol on Saturday night when Jason Donovan visited his namesake kebab van on the Clifton Triangle.

The Australian actor and singer ordered a doner with garlic mayonnaise and chilli from Jason Donervan, proclaiming it “very special”.

Jason Donovan was at Jason Donervan with Andi Peters as part of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV.

A large crowd had gathered at the kebab van that has long been a late night favourite, especially for University of Bristol students.

There have been numerous campaigns over the years to get the former Neighbours actor to frequent the van including when he was performing at the Bristol Hippodrome, but this was his first ever visit to the site outside the former Habitat on Queen’s Road, now Beacon House Study Centre.

“Oh mate, it’s awesome man,” Donovan told Peters while sampling his meal.

“So many tastes. There’s just so much going on.”

Paloma Faith in the ITV studio was not the only person whose mind was blown by what had just occurred.

“Jason Donovan ordering a kebab at the Jason Donervan. What have we done to deserve this kind of high quality entertainment?”

“Anyone from Bristol will appreciate the enormity of this event!” tweeted Julia Vita.

“This could create a tear in the space time continuum,” wrote Rob Claridge on Facebook.

Annie Parker tweeted: “I love everything about this. It’s perfect.”
