Jeremy Corbyn attends General Election rally in Filton

By Bristol24/7  Saturday Nov 2, 2019

Labour members in Bristol gave a rousing welcome to their party leader at an election rally in Filton on Saturday.

Jeremy Corbyn appeared at the BAWA club on Southmead Road less than a fortnight after he was forced to cancel an appearance at the Marble Factory.

He was in town as General Election campaigning continues, with this rally in support of Labour’s candidate in Filton & Bradley Stoke, Mhairi Threlfall.

“While campaigning in the winter is miserable, think of a Labour government in the spring,” Corbyn told the capacity crowd, who greeted him with a standing ovation.

As his speech came to an end, Corbyn said: “Do we allow the Tories to remain in office, do we allow them to continue their threat of a no deal crash out, do we believe Boris Johnson when he says there will be a moratorium on fracking?

“It’s about who wins in this election. Doctors, teachers factory workers win if Labour wins.”
