is needed now More than ever
In City Hall, Goodman resigned from the Labour Party after presenting a petition calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine conflict.
“Unfortunately, as a result of how the genocide in Gaza and our response to it has been treated by the national Labour Party and some of those in the local Labour group, I am resigning from the Labour Party today,” Goodman said.
She added: “Free Palestine, free Gaza, ceasefire now.”
After the end of the council meeting, in which there were angry scenes when Acorn members confronted mayor Marvin Rees, a Palestinian flag was projected onto the side of City Hall.
