Last chance to vote for Window Wanderland
Wednesday is the last chance to vote for Window Wanderland, a community art project which gets local residents to work together in decorating their gardens and windows, to help it secure £25,000 of funding.
Developed by Lucy Reeves Kahn, the scheme aims to get people to decorate their windows to create localised art ‘exhibitions’ curated by the people living there.
Window Wonderland took place last February in a number of areas across Bristol. The biggest success was in Bishopston, where 200 homes across 55 roads got involved.
Other areas that participated include Southville, Ashton, Bedminster, Windmill Hill, Victoria Park and Fishponds. Whilst most of the activity centred on Bristol, there were also displays in Bedford and Harrogate.
Window Wanderland is aimed at encouraging people to be creative, as well as fostering a strong sense of community spirit as households join together in creating a vibrant atmosphere in the winter months. The grant will be used to fund all aspects of the project, including volunteers and marketing.
