Library of Things to open in south Bristol
Following the success of the Library of Things in Kingswood, the charity that runs the innovative sharing scheme is set to open a new branch in south Bristol.
A former shop in Bedminster is due to open as the Library of Things in April.
Share Bristol have secured a lease of up to two years in the old Shoezone at the entrance to St Catherine’s Place on East Street.
is needed now More than ever
Library of Things’ Bedminster manager, Lisa Harper, said: “We’re so excited to get working on the new Library of Things, and incredibly grateful to everyone who donated to our crowdfunder last year, all the people who have put things aside ready for us to have, and all our amazing BS3 volunteers who have been waiting patiently for this news.”

Share Bristol are now looking for items which can be borrowed, with the most needed being carpet cleaners, pressure washers, sanders and other DIY tools.
They are also on the look out for more volunteers to help fix things and run lending sessions.
Share Bristol trustee, Anna Perry, said: “We know lots of people have been really keen to see Share Bristol become accessible to people in south Bristol, and we now need them to support us by signing up for an annual membership, which will allow a full year of borrowing for free.
“This supports our tiny charity and will help our Bedminster Library of Things get onto a firm footing.”
