Licence removed from troubled Easton pub
An Easton pub has had its licence removed following a number of serious criminal offences, the most recent of which saw a man shot and seriously injured outside over the weekend.
Emergency powers have been used to prevent any licensable activities taking place at the Jolly on Easton Road for a period of three weeks.
Supt Rhys Hughes said: “We’re extremely concerned about the recent serious criminal offences which have taken place either at the Jolly Roger pub, or within the immediate vicinity.
is needed now More than ever
“To help prevent any further incidents taking place we took the decision to use emergency powers and ask for the premises’ licence to be revoked with immediate effect until a full licensing hearing can be held.
“We’ve got a clear duty to protect the public and ensure we’re doing everything we can to prevent any further offences being committed.
“I’d like to thank the local community for their ongoing support.”
