Man critical after being pulled from docks

A man is in a critical condition after being pulled from the Bristol docks early this morning.

The area around Thekla nightclub and Mud Dock is taped off following the ‘serious incident’.

Raymond Cross, a resident returning to his houseboat, said: “I found what I thought was a body in the water at 6.20 this morning and alerted emergency services.

“I was walking my dog and saw an object in the water. I went to my boat for a torch and saw that it was a young male face down in the water.”

A spokesman for the South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called by police at 6.37am. We attended the scene on Grove Road and found an unconscious male. He was taken to the BRI for further treatment.”
