Man raped after leaving Bristol nightclub

By Ellie Pipe  Tuesday Mar 13, 2018

Police are hoping a checked shirt will help them catch a man who raped another man in Bristol in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 35-year-old victim was attacked after leaving OMG nightclub on Frogmore Street at around 5am.

Officers say they are unsure of the exact location, but believe the rape took place somewhere between the city centre and the Clifton area between 5am and 8am.

Have you seen a shirt like this?

Investigating officer, acting detective sergeant Vanessa Byrne said: “We are keen to trace an item of the clothing which we know the victim had with him when he left the nightclub.

“Have you seen a shirt matching the one in the photo since Saturday night? It may have been discarded in a street or park area or be in someone’s possession? It’s unbranded and isn’t a new item of clothing.

“The victim is being fully supported and has attended The Bridge sexual assault referral centre where he’s been given access to all the expert help and support he needs.

“As well as trying to locate the clothing, we’re reviewing CCTV footage to trace the victim’s movements after he left the nightclub.”

If you’ve seen this shirt or can help with providing any more information, please call police on 101 and give the reference number 5218052793.
