Martin Clunes and James Buckley spotted filming in Bristol

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Aug 27, 2024

Bristol Aquarium was turned into the venue of the Great British Beer Festival as actors Martin Clunes and James Buckley filmed scenes for a new film about beer.

Mother’s Pride is described as “a comedy drama about a failing pub, a divided community and a grieving family whose lives are changed by brewing real ale and entering the Great British Beer Awards”.

Clunes and Buckley appear to have had a close encounter with a passing cyclist in the layby off Anchor Road behind the Watershed with a barrel of Mother’s Pride beer spotted nearby.

Clunes is best known for his roles in Doc Martin and Men Behaving Badly, while Buckley found fame playing Jay in The Inbetweeners.

Mother’s Pride is directed by Nick Moorcroft, and written by Moorcroft and Meg Leonard, with the pair’s previous credits including Finding Your Feet and Fisherman’s Friends.
