Mel Giedroyc helps Marie Curie fundraising appeal in Bristol
Mel Giedroyc has swapped the Bristol Old Vic stage for a charity shop on Gloucester Road.
Currently appearing in Starter For Ten, the longstanding Marie Curie ambassador visited the end of life charity’s store to help support their Great Daffodil Appeal.
The appeal helps raise funds for Marie Curie nurses and healthcare professionals to provide expert support and hospice care across Bristol and beyond.
is needed now More than ever
Giedroyc said: ”I’ve had a great time today, thank you to everyone who stopped and donated. You can feel the collection tin slowly getting heavier and heavier, it’s a great feeling.
“We had a few people stop and tell us about the care Marie Curie had provided someone close to them which was so wonderful to hear.
“I know they are still looking for volunteers in Bristol and would certainly recommend signing up if you can.
“Failing that, if you spot a Marie Curie volunteer out and about during March, please pop a donation in their tin and support their incredible work.”

Marie Curie community fundraiser, Hannah Drury, added: “It was amazing to have Mel join us in our Gloucester Road store today. She brought so much buzz and energy to the day.
“There’s still time to sign up and be part of the Great Daffodil Appeal, we particularly need volunteers for our Bristol city centre collection on 22 March. So if you have a couple of hours to spare, we’d love to hear from you.”
