More filming to take place in Bristol for Young Sherlock

By Martin Booth  Sunday Dec 1, 2024

Filming is due to recommence in Bristol on Monday for Young Sherlock directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin in the title role.

Adverts in Queen Square are for events taking place in Oxford, where 19-year-old Sherlock is at university in the novels written by Andrew Lane.

Two of the adverts affixed to a board on The Grove side of the square give the years 1870 and 1871 to pinpoint the period when the action takes place.

The official synopsis for the series says that “at age 19, Sherlock Holmes is disgraced, raw, unfiltered and unformed, when he finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University which threatens his freedom”.

“Diving into his first-ever case with a wild lack of discipline, Sherlock manages to unravel a globe-trotting conspiracy that will change his life forever.”
