Police were called to the Hayes Close area of Lawrence Hill at about 6.20pm on Thursday where they found the man, who sadly could not be saved and died at the scene.

A cordon was put in place and several roads in the area remain closed in order to enable murder investigators to carry out their work.

Speaking on Thursday, Yassin Mohamud, Green Party councillor for Lawrence Hill, said: “I’m saddened by the death of another teenager in Lawrence Hill tonight. My prayers are with their family and community. However, we need to work together to prevent another tragic incident in our communities.”
