Mystery filming preparation at city farm
Amid the familiar greenhouses, pigsties and chicken coops of St Werburgh’s City Farm, a charred cross-section of a building has appeared.
The set that has been built appears to be the interior of a house that has undergone significant destruction, complete with crumbling bricks, charred walls and a blown-up wall.
In a letter seen by Bristol24/7 sent to residents, the activity is part of the preparation for several scenes being filmed by London-based 60Forty Films which will feature “emergency service vehicles, special effects and action within roadways”.
is needed now More than ever
Much speculation has naturally arisen about what exactly is being filmed on the farm.
There are unconfirmed rumours the filming is part of the new adaptation of Mick Herron’s mystery thriller Down Cemetery Road.

The novel is the first in Herron’s series The Oxford Investigations and begins with a house explosion in a quiet Oxford suburb with a young girl disappearing in the aftermath.
Apple TV+ announced in mid-April their intentions to create a “new thriller” based on the Down Cemetery Road.
The series is set to star Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson who will take up the roles of private investigator Zoe Boehm and weary housewife Sarah Tucker.
Residents in St Werburgh’s have been assured that all attempts to keep disruption to a minimum have been taken by film crews.
Filming is set to take place between June 24 and 28 potentially “well into the evening/ early morning” and will see the closure of Watercress Road, with film crews de-rigging from July 1 and leaving the area on July 4.
