New sign appears warning of the infamous Bristol Crocodile

A sign warning of the presence of Bristol’s most disreputable reptile has appeared next to the docks.

‘Caution: sighting of the Bristol crocodile in this area’ says the sign attached to a telegraph pole close to the Grain Barge.

The sign has the added hashtag #bristolcroc

A previous sign warning of the semiaquatic carnivore was placed on the Portway close to the Clifton Suspension Bridge in 2014.

The first alleged sighting of the crocodile happened that year when a bus driver claimed he saw the scaly predator close to Bedminster Bridge.
