A two-month-old piglet was stolen on Monday night from Windmill Hill City Farm.

“We are very concerned for the piglet’s welfare as it is likely that the culprit has limited knowledge of pig care and nutrition,” a post on the farm’s Facebook page said.

“As well as this, if the piglet was stolen for meat (which is likely), they may not take the piglet to a legitimate slaughterhouse. Legally, all animals being slaughtered must be stunned first so they do not feel pain when killed.”

NB The pictures on this page show the piglet’s siblings, who are practically identical to the pig that was stolen.
