Big plans to brush-up Broadmead
Broadmead is set to be getting more than just a new lick of paint.
Plans have been revealed for a major update on the current model, complete with diverse shops, cafes, restaurants and leisure spaces.
Cabot Circus centre manager Stephanie Lacey said: “We support a ‘city centre first’ approach to new development and believe our emerging plans will keep people coming to and enjoying Bristol.”
is needed now More than ever
Even its biggest fans would say that the shopping area – which has changed little since its construction in the 1950s – now looks shabby compared to its neighbour Cabot Circus.
Since opening, Cabot Circus has greatly increased the local economy and developers hope injecting new life into Broadmead will reinvigorate the area and secure Bristol as the key shopping destination for the South West.
There is to be a consultation for businesses, residents and the local community from June 16-18 at the Podium, Broadmead to help shape the future of the city centre.
After the public exhibition, the Bristol Alliance will work with the owners and developers of Cabot circus to submit an outline planning application for the renovation scheme.
