Polls open for Kingswood by-election
Polling stations across the Kingswood constituency are open for the snap by-election triggered by the resignation of Tory Chris Skidmore.
Parliamentary hopefuls have been pounding the streets in the hope to win the seat that, in 2019, secured an 11,000 Conservative majority on a turnout of 71.5 per cent. The Tories have held the seat since 2010.
The winning candidate is set to only be in position for a matter of months before a general election is called, at which point the existing constituency will be abolished and divided into two new constituencies, Bristol North East constituency and Somerset North East & Hanham.
