Premier League supports girls football at Hotwells Primary School
The gleaming Premier League trophy took pride of place in Hotwells Primary School hall as the smiling faces of all the pupils were reflected off its polished silver surface.
But it wasn’t just the trophy that was looking its best. The silverware currently held by Manchester City was visiting Hotwells because the Premier League had donated girls football kits to the school.
Bristol West MP Thangam Debbonaire officially presented the blue kits to the girls in Year Six and then joined them for a kickabout outside.
is needed now More than ever
The kit giveaway was part of a nationwide programme that will see 58,000 girls in more than 4,000 primary schools across England and Wales receiving a new football kit this season as part of the Premier League Primary Stars scheme in partnership with Nike.

All of the pupils at Hotwells took part in an assembly on Friday morning when they got to see the Premier League trophy and hear from Debonnaire about her job as both local MP and also the shadow minister for sport.
“You’re all part of a fantastic team here at Hotwells and I love to come and visit you,” Debonnaire told the children during the assembly.
“To be part of a team is one of the best things you can ever do. If you really show that you want to be part of a team, you will get some amazing experiences in life today and into the future.”
