Rebels on Roundabouts bring their ‘freedom messages’ to Bristol
Two signs that have appeared close to St Mary Redcliffe Church are the work of a group calling themselves ‘Rebels on Roundabouts’.
Almost 6,500 people are members of the group on Telegram, where they share ideas for new ‘freedom messages’ on their signs, as well as information about protests outside vaccination centres, ‘direct action’ on bridges and ‘freedom rallies’.
The signs attached to the railings of the Portwall Lane car park read ‘mums against jabbing children’ and ‘please don’t jab kids’.

The latest NHS advice is that vaccinations are safe and effective, and that everyone aged 12 and over, and some children aged five to 11, can get a first and second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
People aged 16 and over, and some children aged 12 to 15, can also get a booster dose.

The Rebels on Roundabouts group also has a cross-over with another group, ‘the ‘yellow vests’ – who wear hi-vis jackets with phrases on the back including ‘take the mask off’, ‘we are the 99%’ and ‘the media lies’.
Other phrases regularly used on the group’s Telegram channel include ‘resist, defy, do not comply’ – also on a slogan on a t-shirt worn regularly by Piers Corbyn.
