Reward money to help find Jack could be spent on private detective
The mother of missing Jack O’Sullivan has told of her pain and trying “anything and everything possible”, including searching with her bare hands, in an attempt to find her son.
“In our continuing search for Jack, I have taken myself away to try and regain the strength to continue this process,” wrote Catherine O’Sullivan on a Facebook page dedicated to the hunt for the 23-year-old who has not been seen since a night out in Hotwells on March 2.
“I sit and think to myself how can this be possible!
is needed now More than ever
“I have been contacted by mediums telling me Jack has been held hostage, murdered and giving me locations all over Bristol to go and look for him.
“I have had requests for payment so he can be released!”

Before he went missing, Jack was an aspiring solicitor who was studying a postgraduate diploma in law at BPP Law School, having graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in history in 2023.
Jack, whose family home is in Flax Bourton, was a pupil at Clifton College where he was a head of house and played hockey for the school’s 1st XI.
Posters with his face on have become a familiar sight around the Cumberland Basin area, with a hot air balloon with ‘Find Jack’ on the side also appearing at the recent Balloon Fiesta in Ashton Court.
Almost 1000 people have now also donated to a crowdfunder which has raised more than £30,000.
The initial purpose of the crowdfunder was to raise £20,000 for a reward to be given for information that leads directly to bringing Jack home.
But with extra money raised, and following a meeting with Jack’s family and a missing persons advisor, it has been agreed that some of the donations above the reward amount will now be used “to employ a specialist firm to advance the search for Jack”.

In her Facebook post, Catherine O’Sullivan wrote: “Please tell me what would any normal, sane family do under these circumstances – our son is missing for god’s sake!
“Why, oh why isn’t Jack’s disappearance being treated with the respect it deserves?
“It keeps being said but it is so true – if Jack was a girl the whole world would know about it and be taking action.”
Catherine added: “If there is anything else any of you can do to spread the word to the moon and back, search every corner of the earth and just keep our desperate plea to “FIND JACK O’SULLIVAN” on the tips of everyone’s tongues!
“You are our only hope! SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING! Please share any information you might have!”
