Roof ripped off lorry after hitting bridge

By Martin Booth  Wednesday Jun 8, 2022

‘Creative, accurate, consistent’ reads the side of a lorry that had its roof ripped off when it was driven underneath a low bridge in Bristol on Wednesday morning.

The lorry is owned by Jigsaw, a company based in Pontyclun in Wales specialising in television scenery.

The incident happened less than a year after a lorry containing sets for The Outlaws rolled backwards and ended up in the docks next to Revolucion de Cuba.

Soon after 1.30pm, the lorry was being prepared to be removed from Whitby Road in St Anne’s, close to Lost & Grounded brewery.

It was stuck underneath the railway bridge for some two hours, with part of its roof still on the floor next to the span, which is marked as being 11 feet high.
