Should we remove Colston’s name from Bristol?

Calls are continuing to be made to change the name of the Colston Hall.

But if we change the name of the concert venue, why stop there? Although with a large number of references to the slave trader across the city, this could be a problem:

It comes as historian David Olusoga writing in The Guardian called the Colston Hall “an affront to a multicultural city” and should be renamed.

He said that “no British city is more wilfully blind to its history than Bristol… (which) stands head and shoulders above the competition in its capacity to obscure its past and obfuscate its history”.
