Showcasing inclusivity at unique Bristol event

From circus to science, there will be plenty to enjoy during a family-friendly day, billed as the most inclusive event in Bristol this summer.

Award-winning disabled organisation WECIL has teamed up with We The Curious to host Access All Areas, which will showcase inclusivity through a wide variety of activities, entertainment and workshops.

Taking place on Wednesday, August 28 in the event space next to the science museum in Millennium Square, the day kicks off at 1pm with a tour and opening speeches, followed by a jam-packed programme that includes: accessible circus, music and Extraordinary Bodies workshops, Tai Chi demonstrations, a campaign corner and more.

There will be a balcony barbecue and bar area open from 2pm and the event will round off with keynote speeches by Paralympians James Blackwell and Karen Butler.

The day will be jam-packed with workshops, entertainment, activities and more

Speaking about the event, WECIL’s Lara Thomas-Nel said: “Join us for exciting and accessible workshops with Cirque Bijou, accessible sports for everyone to try, a fully-equipped sensory space, interesting talks and campaigns on issues that affect all citizens and local disabled people showcasing their talents and skills including the WECIL collective.

“The event is an annual affair, and everything is fully accessible so that anyone can come.

“We will have BSL interpreters all day, hearing loops, accessible and adaptable workshops for all ages and a sensory room.”

There are a limited number of free tickets available, so organisers advise people to register soon.

Attendees will also be able to purchase special £4 tickets to visit the rest of We The Curious.
