By Edie Attridge  Wednesday Aug 16, 2023

A sixth man has been arrested in connection with the death of Eddie King Muthemba Kinuthia in Bristol.

Eddie, also known as EK, was stabbed in Grosvenor Road Triangle Park in St Paul’s just before 11pm on July 21 and died of his injuries.

During a news conference on Thursday, the 19-year-old’s mother, Irene, issued a heart-breaking plea for anyone with any information to come forward.

Despite now making six arrests in the ongoing murder investigation, no one has been charged for Eddie’s death as of yet.

One teenager, who was arrested just after the incident, has been eliminated from the investigation.

Four other men, all in their 20s, have also been arrested, with three of them currently on conditional police bail and one has been released under investigation.

The sixth man, who was arrested on Tuesday, is also in his 20s from Bristol and currently remains in police custody.

Speaking after the recent news conference, detective chief inspector Mark Almond said: “We need that critical piece of evidence from someone who was there or who saw the individuals afterwards.”

He stressed that his team of investigators is experienced in supporting witnesses through difficult cases like this.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who: was in contact with Eddie on July 21, either in person, by phone or social media; was in the Grosvenor Road area between 10pm and 11:30pm on July 21; and anyone who saw a black electric motorbike, similar to a Sur-Ron electric trials bike, being ridden in the St Paul’s or Easton area at the time, with either one or two riders.

A dedicated online portal has been created for those with information to share with the police.
