‘Tough’ start for community hub after forceful break-in
The new year has started on a sour note for a community hub, after a forceful break-in at their premises.
St Anne’s House in Brislington was broken into in the early days of January, and property belonging to the creative and community hub and their sister social enterprise, Bricks were damaged and stolen.
With youth activities, artist projects and more – the hub has been home for the “ambition of communities” in the area ever since its inception in 2019.
is needed now More than ever
Expressing disappointment about the break-in, the St Anne’s team said: “We’re saddened to share that 2025 got off to a tough start at St Anne’s House. A break-in resulted in stolen property and damage to the building, which will be expensive to repair.

They continued:“Thankfully, our amazing team acted quickly to secure the space, and the support from our tenants and the local community has been incredible. It’s heartbreaking that a valued and growing community asset has been targeted in this way.
“As a small charity prioritising affordable spaces and opportunities for Bristol’s communities, the cost of repairs and insurance excess is a significant setback, especially during an already challenging time for small charities like ours.
“We’re determined to move forward and continue building on the amazing plans we have for 2025! If anyone can support us through a donation or by booking a room at St Anne’s House, it would make a real difference.”
