Vision for interior design shop and studio space
It is the hope of an award-winning interior designer that a fundraiser will help realise her dream of opening a shop-studio-hub which can act as a permanent base for her work.
Zoë Hewett’s vision is to create “a lively interior design hub” on Gloucester Road where studio work for private clients, meetings, workshop experiences and talk events can take place under one roof.
The founder of artisanal interior design studio Stylemongers Of Bristol is launching a crowdfunder on Monday, with the aim to rasie £30,000.
is needed now More than ever
Hewett say that amount will enable her to afford the first year’s rent, transform the space and safeguard the hub’s sustainability and success for two years.

In a statement, Hewett said: “Gloucester Road has been my neighbourhood for almost 17 years now and I’ve always been a bit in love with it, for reasons I can’t quite explain.
“It’s so true that people make a place, and the independent spirit among the community here is definitely something I resonate with.
“The idea for opening a shop-studio-hub has come really out of the blue, born from feeling tired after carrying all my workshop kit back to my workspace after my last event because all those magazines and fabrics weigh an absolute ton.
“Although I’m pretty strong and fit, if I’m honest I don’t particularly enjoy lugging it all around! If it was all stored in the same place as where I work it would certainly make life easier, but also a better experience and a more interesting, immersive environment for the people who come to my events.
“Most of my work as a designer is desk-based, but sometimes I do get the paints out for customising furniture or hand printing fabric, and you can’t really do ‘wet work’ like this in a co-working space, so to be able to do everything in one place would be just fantastic.
“People would be able to see the fabrics and wallpapers I have to offer as well, as currently they’re invisible!
“Having worked either from home in isolation or a tiny studio for years, I would love to be able to open the doors to my studio every day and invite people in.”
