YouTuber’s challenge to find all Gromit Unleashed 2 sculptures in 24 hours

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Jul 3, 2018

Pausing for breath in Stanfords on Corn Street soon after 5pm on Monday, Chris Bob reflects that time has unfortunately transpired against him.

Eleven hours previously, Chris had set off from his home in Whitchurch to find the Gromit Unleashed 2 sculptures to tick off his checklist.

On the first day of this year’s trail, the 31-year-old YouTuber from Whitchurch aimed to become the first person to find all of the Gromit, Wallace and Feathers figurines.

“It has been really fun so far,” Chris told Bristol24/7. “I have met lots of great people including the mayor of Thornbury and also a few of the artists.”

Chris set himself the challenge to raise awareness of this year’s trail, once again raising money for The Grand Appeal, and to boost his YouTube channel which mostly sees him play computer games but has also recently branched out into visiting places like Zero Green on North Street.

He added: “I’ve loved it. I’ve loved every minute of it. It’s been well worth it.”

Chris admitted that it was “very ambitious” to find all of the sculptures in just one day, and on Tuesday morning he set off again to find the figurines he missed, with his first stop Chew Valley Lake and Marshall.
