Zine Tseng films scenes for Young Sherlock in Bristol

By Martin Booth  Sunday Dec 15, 2024

Zine Tseng has been spotted filming scenes for Young Sherlock for the first time.

In the Amazon Prime series directed by Guy Ritchie, with Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Sherlock, Tseng plays Gulun Shou’an, described as a “Chinese princess, Oxford University scholar and skilled martial-artist”.

Bristol has once again been transformed into 1870s Oxford for the latest filming in the city, with Tseng laughing and joking with cast and crew members when the cameras were not rolling.

On Sunday, production had moved to Frog Lane behind City Hall, close to Banksy’s Well Hung Lover mural.

Tseng, who grew up in Taiwan and is fluent in both English and Mandarin, has a background in martial arts.

Her breakthrough role was starring in the Netflix series 3 Body Problem.

The filming on Sunday saw Frog Lane closed for most of the day.
