is needed now More than ever
Lido

“Being a born and bred Bristolian with a greedy disposition, you’d expect me to know everywhere to eat, but I had to turn to Twitter for restaurant suggestions before I moved back West after a 20 year hiatus in London. One restaurant that came up time and time again was Lido. So I tried it and I’m now a bit of a regular. This hidden gem’s setting overlooking a gorgeous restored pool is made even better by the passion of head chef Freddy Bird and his imaginative menu. The crab croquetas that have recently adorned the menu are out of this world!”
The Lazy Dog

“I came across The Lazy Dog while judging for the Bristol Good Food Awards last year, and I’m jolly glad I did! Bristol has a knack of playing host to a huge amount of friendly pubs with great atmosphere and a keen eye on seasonal food. This place has it in spades. You could walk in a stranger and leave feeling like a local. The prolific menu of intriguing dishes is served by super friendly staff who make you want to detour to Ashley Down Road, even if you’re nowhere near.”
Bellita

“For midweek, casual dining, there is no better place than Bellita on Cotham Hill. Co-Owner Kate Hawkings and her team serve up chef Joe Harvey’s original small plates with warmth and a cheeky smile. Many an evening has been spent here when I can’t be bothered to cook. The fabulous wine list of female wine producers is really fun. Get Kate to show you some of her faves, and you’re guaranteed not to leave sober.”
Berwick Lodge
“If you fancy some out of town class on a plate, Berwick Lodge awaits. Its restaurant Hattusa is fine dining with relaxed charm. Head chef Paul O’Neil’s seasonal menu never disappoints. And after you’ve made your way through their cocktail list, get owner and hotel manager Sarah Arikan to show your some of their fabulous rooms. Glorious grounds and unique style make this a must for any foodie tourist.”
Adelina Yard

“I first went to this spot on Welsh Back when it was Cherry Duck, long before Jamie Randall and his team set up shop here. Thank goodness that they’ve chosen to make Bristol their home because Adelina Yard is awesome! Jamie’s imaginative menu just gets better every time. Lunch is always stunning and a complete bargain and dinner leaves you mesmerised. The mutton main course that is currently on the menu is a stunner. And get front-of-house star Jean-Sebastien (ex Berwick Lodge, no less) to recommend something from their brilliant wine list. He’s the best sommelier in the city.”
