My Bristol Favourites: Chris Dent
Chris Dent is Gloucestershire County Cricket Club’s second longest serving player. The Bristol-born left-handed batsman and occasional spin bowler signed a professional contract with the club in 2009 and has been a crucial part of the team ever since, top scoring in last week’s opening game of the season against Kent.
Gloucestershire will be back in action on Friday when they welcome Leicestershire to the Brightside Ground for their first home County Championship match of the season. For more information, visit www.gloscricket.co.uk.
Here are Chris’ top-five Bristol favourites:
is needed now More than ever
Boston Tea Party, Gloucester Road
“I’ve spent a lot of time here. After winter training you can head down and get a coffee and I think Boston Tea Party serves one of the best coffees in Bristol. Having been to Australia, I’m a bit of a coffee snob.”
Victoria Park
“I used to live just around from Victoria Park and spent a lot of time walking my dogs.”
The Downs
“Most people in Bristol love the Downs. We tend to try and get there for a barbeque a couple of times a year and have a bit of a kick-about. It’s a great location.”
Mbargo
“Not so much anymore, but definitely when I was a bit younger. It was a bit of a local for us lads. We did enjoy it. I’ve got a kid now so I’m spending more time indoors than I am in Mbargo.”
Mission Burrito
“Mission Burrito on Park Street has very good food there and it’s pretty good value too. For anyone who hasn’t been, you need to go there!”
