“One of my favourite places to run is the Downs, and the Downs Café is part of that. The food is really nice and simple but well-cooked, and the staff are always really friendly. It’s a wonderful place to sit in the sunshine, catch up with friends after a run and celebrate with some cake.”

Race for Life

“My business has recently partnered with Cancer Research UK, which is very exciting as the Race For Life is where my running started, getting me onto marathons and all sorts of other things. It’s been going on for years and feels like part of the scenery now.”

Abbots Pool

“I discovered Abbots Pool through running, and it’s just beautiful – really serene. You can stop there and it’s completely silent. Until the kids come to play on the rope swing! I love being in the woodlands around that area, especially when the bluebells and the wild garlic are out.”

Reg the Veg

Reg the Veg in Clifton Village is my decadent local veg shop! The people are so lovely in there, and they have fantastic stuff. They always have this cart outside, laden with pomegranates and tangerines with the leaves still on, that makes me feel like I’m in a foreign country.”

St George’s

St George’s has a massively eclectic mix of music on that you can pick and choose from – jazz, opera, all sorts. You hear amazing classical musicians who love coming to it and say it’s their favourite venue, and then you also go and watch your kids perform there. I’ve seen all three of mine playing solos on that stage! It’s a venue that really makes Bristol special, and a colourful mix of everything our city has to offer.”
