My Bristol Favourites: Louisa Parry and Sofia Simou

By Bristol24/7  Sunday Apr 15, 2018

Louisa Parry and Sofia Simou are the co-founders of The Coffee House Project, coming to the Passenger Shed on September 7 and 8.

The two-day coffee festival promises to be “a caffeine-fuelled celebration of the best the city has to offer”, focusing on local, artisan roasters, independent food and drink retail, and home-grown baristas.

Keep an eye out for more details announced soon. For more information, visit www.thecoffeehouseproject.co.uk

Here are Louisa and Sofia’s top-five Bristol favourites:

Clifton Observatory

Louisa: “For me, the Clifton Observatory is two things. It’s a landmark for me on a run (normally unable to breath as I reach the top) and it is also a place where I love to come in the evenings to see Bristol from up high.”

Underfall Yard

Louisia: “I love going down to Underfall Yard as there is a true sense of community; people walking dogs, boats coming in, rowers about to head out. I love the whole mix there, especially the quirky characters.”

Alma Vale Road

“I do love a walk on this road; it always makes me feel like I’m in film set (sounds a bit romantic, I know!). The small independent shops, cafes and pubs all add a bit of a their own character to the neighbourhood. My two absolute favourite stops are the Alma Tavern and Mockingbird.”

Floating Harbour

“Coming from the Mediterranean, the water is a must-have in my life so I try to nip out as often as I can down to the harbourside for a coffee or just a walk. There is always something new to discover and I would never say no to a spontaneous souvlaki from The Athenian at Wapping Wharf.”

Full Court Press

“For us, Full Court Press on Broad Street is the place that started The Coffee House Project journey and it’s a place we have a huge soft spot for. It is the place if you are looking to try a new coffee every time, but it’s never a daunting experience as you are always made to feel so welcome by the great team.”
