Bristol’s queen of the sea to attend Royal wedding
When Natalie Fee was invited to attend Saturday’s Royal wedding in the grounds of Windsor Castle, she was asked to bring a picnic and plastic cutlery.
But combatting single-use plastic has been an issue that the environmental campaigner has been fighting against for many years, so she will be celebrating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials with wooden knives and forks, laughing that the Royal Family were “messing with the wrong chick”.
Natalie said that receiving her invitation in the post to the wedding was a “jaw-dropping moment”.
is needed now More than ever
She was officially invited to the wedding by Bristol’s Lord Lieutenant, Peaches Golding, as one of 1,200 members of the public, many of who devote their lives to charitable causes close to Harry and Meghan’s hearts.
Natalie will be at Windsor Castle with Michelle Cassar (pictured below right), her close friend and fellow director of City to Sea, the non-profit organisation founded by Natalie in 2016 that aims to reduce plastic pollution at source.

Natalie’s outfit for Saturday is sea-themed and includes a secondhand Coast dress from Ragtrade Boutique on Upper Maudlin Street and what Natalie describes as a “subtle yet exquisite” hat from Ani Stafford-Townsend’s new Daughters of Neptune collection at Milliners’ Guild, also on Upper Maudlin Street.
Before becoming a full-time campaigner, Natalie was a presenter on Made In Bristol TV. She has lived in Bristol for the past six years since moving from near Glastonbury, and counts some of her favourite city spots as Hotwells, Brislington Brook and Brandon Hill, with one thing in common: a source or view of water.
She admits to not being a passionate royalist but revealed that her favourite royal is Prince Charles – who she once met by chance on a beach clean in Cornwall – because of his work in sustainability and conservation.
Natalie is hosting the UK premiere of Albatross from documentary filmmaker Chris Jordan at Bristol Aquarium on May 23. For tickets and more information, visit ww2.theticketsellers.co.uk/tickets/city-to-sea-hoststhe-uk-premiere-of-long-awaited-film-albatross/10046734
