My Bristol Favourites: Deepika Kesar

By Martin Booth  Friday Apr 28, 2023

Deepika Kesar is the manager of Future Leap on Gloucester Road, a sustainable business hub that offers co-working, meeting room and venue hire, a cafe, and a sustainable retail shop.

She moved to Bristol from Milton Keynes, and spent seven years living in Colombia and Panama before returning to Bristol.

These are Deepika’s top-five Bristol favourites:

St Paul’s Carnival

St Paul’s Carnival has always been my favourite event of the year. I look forward to it more than Christmas and I’m buzzing to have it back again in July!”

“I think Bokman on Ninetree Hill would be on many people’s My Bristol Favourites lists. Everything I have eaten here is intense and delicious.”

Cargo Cantina

“Margaritas and tacos. Cargo Cantina at Wapping Wharf is what dreams are made of.”

The Fleece

The Fleece has hosted the likes of Radiohead, Oasis, Muse and Coldplay – photo: Anna Shrimpton

The Fleece is my favourite Bristol music venue. The last gig I saw here was Mad Dog Mcrea. If you ever get the chance to see them, go! You will have a great time!”

Kandyan

Kandyan is a small Sri Lankan restaurant at the top of Gloucester Road. The owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and I think it’s the best Sri Lankan restaurant in Bristol.”
