My Bristol Favourites: Jodie Hancock
Jodie Hancock is the project manager of Unicornfest, a nine-week public art trail starting in July which will see life size unicorns across Bristol raising money for Leukaemia Care.
Jodie, who has become known as the unicorn lady, is a self-confessed Bristol fanatic. When she isn’t selling sponsorship of unicorns, she is s experiencing the city with her young daughter.
These are Jodie’s top-five Bristol favourites:
is needed now More than ever
Harbour Inlet pontoons

“There is nothing better than grabbing a takeaway drink from Brown & Bye and taking a seat on the pontoon. You can even dip your toes in the water if you fancy. No doubt something interesting will be going on around you, so it’s a perfect spot to remove the headphones and soak in the vibrancy that the city has to offer.”
Milk Thistle

“Once in a blue moon I like to feel sophisticated. On those days, you can catch me at the Milk Thistle, where I can live out my sophisticated fantasy. They serve elegance in liquid form and ALWAYS play the best tracks.”
Glen’s Kitchen

“Nothing says Bristol like Glen’s Kitchen at St Paul’s Learning Centre. Besides the flavour-ridden food, my favourite thing about this spot is being greeted by Glen and George, who are both incredibly community-driven. I always leave this place feeling a little inspired and wanting to do more!”
Artist Residence

Artist Residence’s bar is named after the boot factory that was once on this corner of Portland Square – photo: Martin Booth
“Artist Residence on Portland Square in St Paul’s is my favourite spot for meeting clients, especially those who have travelled from out of town as for me, the décor here really shows off what Bristol is all about. I often find myself here out of hours in winter months as the library and log fire naturally feel like home.”
Bulrush

“For an extra snazzy special occasion, I would always recommend Bulrush in Cotham. If you’re coming from Gloucester Road, you may have to trek up one of the steepest hills in Bristol to get here, but the party in your mouth will be well worth it!”
