My Bristol Favourites: Piers O’Conor
Piers O’Conor joined Bristol Bears from Ealing Trailfinders ahead of the 2018/19 Gallagher Premiership campaign.
He has won 10 caps for England U20 and earned a senior call-up for the June clash with Barbarians after a breakthrough year in the top flight.
Here are Piers’ top-five Bristol favourites:
is needed now More than ever
The Downs
“The Downs, especially in the summer, is a beautiful open space and a great place to have a picnic or just to get away from things, to relax and chill out.”
Tradewind Espresso
“Tradewind Espresso on Whiteladies Road is my favourite place to get a coffee. I go there whenever I get a chance.”
Spitfire
“I’m going to Spitfire on the harbourside for my birthday. I’ll definitely be having the barbecue wings. Something about their barbecuing is just incredible.”
Ashton Gate
“When Ashton Gate is absolutely rocking it’s a hell of a place to play. When the whole place is full, you cannot really hear yourself think sometimes. It’s pretty special. The Bristol supporters were incredible last year getting behind us through the ups and downs. We play an exciting brand of rugby and we want to bring that again this year. We all want to play in the Bath game coming up. That’s what I’m aiming for.”
Stokes Croft
“It’s such an interesting place with its alternative spirit and its array of independent places. I love Bristol’s diversity and there’s just something so special about Stokes Croft.”
