These are Thom’s top-five Bristol favourites:
SWU.fm
“I’ll admit I was late to the party when it comes to SWU. I was a diehard 6 Music fan for years, but I’ve been tuning in to SWU every day for over a year now and I absolutely love it! Felix Joy is the best way to start the day, and Feel the Real with Pato has completely transformed my Spotify playlists.”
Forwards Festival

“I’ve been to Forwards every year, and I think it’s the perfect festival for Bristol. Two amazing stages with fantastic production. What’s really unique is how, when an act finishes on one stage, another starts just a few minutes later on the other so you don’t miss a thing! It’s a testament to how experienced Team Love has become at putting on festivals and events.”
Stokes Croft

“I just love how beautifully chaotic the area is. Stokes Croft is the part of Bristol that outsiders would never truly understand. You have to live and breathe Bristol to see past the rough edges (especially at night) and appreciate the stories behind the people and businesses there. My favourite things about Stokes Croft are Turbo Island, Big Issue Jeff, Caper & Cure, Cuts & Creps and That Thing.”
Bar 44

“As a passionate foodie, picking just one Bristol restaurant is tough. But Bar 44 in Clifton Village stands out as my most visited spot. Amazing tapas, a brilliant Spanish-style Sunday lunch, the loveliest staff and – I swear to God – I will be buried with a glass of their porn star sangria.”
The Old Castle Green

“I love a proper boozer and the Old Castle Green in Old Market has been my go-to this year. What owner Mike has done with the place is incredible! It looks fantastic inside, has a gorgeous garden, a margarita menu, great live music, and an inclusive vibe and ethos that make such a diverse range of people feel welcome drinking together.”
