These are Tom’s Bristol favourites:
Grain Barge

“One of the perks of living on the harbourside is that the local pub is a converted barge with a seasonal menu and live music. During the summer months, the roof deck bar at the Grain Barge provides some of the best views in the city for a post-work pint.”
Ashton Gate Stadium

“I’m obviously biased, but there’s not many stadia in the country that have the character and appeal of Ashton Gate. A stone’s throw from the city centre and surrounded by Southville’s independent bars and cafes, BS3 comes alive on matchdays. When the Bears are at home, you can hear the crowd from as far as Cliftonwood.”
Underfall Yard cafe

“A hidden gem and a favourite with the locals. Nestled in Spike Island and flanked by a working boatyard, the cafe at Underfall Yard is a charming spot for an alfresco coffee and a breakfast bap. It has stunning views of the harbour and is always bustling with activity. There’s a cool visitor centre, too.”
Leigh Woods

“A National Trust nature reserve a short stroll over the Suspension Bridge, Leigh Woods has a ton of trails and woodland to explore away from the frenetic pace of the city. This is a popular spot for mountain bikers, so keep an eye out when you’re walking!”
Burra

“Impeccable food and coffee. Stroll along Lower Redland Road on a Sunday morning and you’ll see queues of people lining up outside before doors open. The guys have done a fantastic job celebrating the uniqueness of Bristol indie culture with an Aussie twist. Keep an eye out for street parties, dining events and seasonal specials. This is the place to be on the city’s foodie scene.”
