Bristol-born footballer Lloyd Kelly signs for Juventus
Lloyd Kelly, who has joined Juventus on loan before signing permanently in the summer for £20m, has never forgotten his roots in Bristol.
With his sister Mary and brother Marcus, he had three different foster parents while growing up, going to school at City Academy in Redfield, and he remains a strong advocate for fostering, featuring in a video for Bristol City Council.
Before signing for Bristol City at the age of 12, Kelly played for Bristol Central FC and the former England Under-21 defender sponsored the club’s kits during the 2021/2022 season.

In their statement on signing Kelly, Juventus said they were “pleased to announce the signing of (the) versatile and talented defender”.
“Arriving from Newcastle United in the English Premier League, Kelly brings with him experience, physicality, aerial strength and a solid defensive reading of the game…
“Kelly is known for his speed, his ability to build up play from the back and his tactical reading of the game.
“Thanks to his imposing stature at 1.90m tall, he is strong in aerial duels, both in the defensive phase and in dead-ball situations.
“His dynamism allows him to adapt to different tactical formations, making him a valuable piece to Juventus’ puzzle.
“Welcome to Juventus, Lloyd!”
