Match report: Bristol Rovers 0-1 Shrewsbury Town
A second half goal by Daniel Udoh was the difference between Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury Town as the visitors edged a tight affair at the Memorial Stadium.
“There’s no point in me pointing fingers at the players,” Ben Garner said after the game. “I have to take full responsibility for the performance.
“I apologise for everyone who came today, it’s nowhere near good enough in any aspect so I’m disappointed, I’m angry, and I’m frustrated.
is needed now More than ever
“I didn’t see anything we worked on this week in that game we need to regroup quickly and try and improve and put it right sharpish.
“The supporters have been excellent and there has been some criticism and boos today and I understand why. I’m very unhappy myself and I would be the same if I’d watched that myself, I’d be fuming.”
Garner was forced into one change to his starting 11 as Abu Ogogo was suspended, meaning Liam Sercombe returned to the fold after a month out with injury.
Prior to kick-off, the players wore Empire Fighting Chance t-shirts to spread awareness of the fantastic work the club’s charity partner does in the local community.
