Rovers Women to play at Mem for only second time in 20 years
Bristol Rovers Women need just one more point to secure promotion to the national league.
So it is likely to be a celebratory affair when the Gas Girls play their final home game of the current South West Women’s Regional League Premier Division season at the Memorial Stadium.
It will just be the second time in more than 20 years that Rovers Women will play at the Mem, following the reformed club taking to the turf against Forest Green in 2022.
is needed now More than ever
Rovers will play Liskeard Athletic at the Mem on Sunday, March 24, with tickets costing just £5 for adults and £1 for under-18s, and a number of fun activities planned both on and off the field.
On Sunday, the Gas Girls won 2-1 against their closest rivals for the league title, Sherborne Athletic, with goals from Laura Curnock and Helena Costa.
Player of the match Kirsten Prior said the team need to “keep the quality high” for the remainder of the season.
“The atmosphere at the moment is really good with the girls,” Prior said. “We just need to maintain that and get to the end of the season.”
