Secure a place for your life-size cut-out in Ashton Gate Stadium

By Ellie Pipe  Wednesday Jun 17, 2020

Bristol City’s final five home matches may be behind closed doors but that doesn’t mean fans can’t be part of the action – sort of.

The club is invited supporters to don their red and white and pose for their own personalised life-size corex board cut-out to fill the seats in Ashton Gate.

A £5 donation from each sale of the £25 ‘Crowdie’ will go to the Bristol Sport Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund, which is supporting the delivery of thousands of meals and food parcels to vulnerable communities across the city.

City’s Korey Smith says: “Our home support has been tremendous all season and we want that to continue for the final push of the campaign, just in a different form.

“The life-size cut-outs not only provide colour in Ashton Gate to get behind the team, they help to back important charitable causes in our city.”

The opportunity for fans to show their support in this way follows a message from Bristol City chairman Jon Lansdown on Monday, when he admitted “love” had been missing from recent communications with season ticket holders.

Lansdown said: “I want to take this opportunity to personally thank all of our supporters who are key workers. To those supporters who have been on the frontline, facing incredibly challenging situations on a daily basis, you really are heroes and thank you cannot be said enough times.”

He continued: “Bristol City is a big part of our lives, it brings together a diverse range of people with one common belief, a love for our football club and our community. I would like to thank all of our fans this season, who have followed us through thick and thin, rain or shine, home or away. In whichever way you have shown your support this year, thank you.”

Each cut-out stands at 76cm x 46cm and pictures must be submitted by 5pm on Tuesday, June 23 to be ready in time for the first home game against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, June 28. They will remain in place for the final nine fixtures.

To support the Robins with a personalised cut-out, upload a photo or selfie (ideally in club colours) to the City Crowdie site, provide some personal details and pay for your £25 Crowdie with a voucher or payment card.
